2021-22
Outdoor: Finished second in the Mountain West Outdoor Championships for heptathlon (5,503)... Finished first in the heptathlon in 200m dash (24.22), second in 800m (2:20.04), 100m hurdles (13.89), high jump (5-05.00), and third in long jump (19-09.50)... Competed in five meets... Set personal bests in 100m hurdles (13.88), 200m dash (24.44), high jump (5-07.25), long jump (19-04.75), shot put (37-06.75), javelin throw (83-08), and heptathlon (5,503)... Took third in the heptathlon in the Sun Angel Classic.

Indoor: Won the gold medal at the Mountain West Indoor Championships for pentathlon with a score of 4,039, also the third highest in program history... Had the top pentathlon score in 800m (2:21.17) and 60m hurdles (8.60), while tying for third in high jump (5-05.75)... Competed in four meets… Her pentathlon score of 3,851 at the UNM Collegiate Classic is the seventh best in SDSU history and a personal best...  Had the best long jump in the UNM Collegiate Classic (19-04.25), which was the tenth best in school history at the time and a personal best... Her high jump of 5-05.75 tied for the eighth-highest in program history.

2020-21
Outdoor: Finished fifth in the heptathlon at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships with a personal best score of 4,947 points… Finished first in the heptathlon in the 800m (2:23.79) and second in the 200m dash with a PR of 24.73…  Also posted new PRs in the 100m hurdles (14.50), high jump (5-05.75), shot put (36-07.50) and javelin throw (80-1)… Finished fifth in the heptathlon at the Franson Classic.

2019-20
Indoor: Competed in three meets… Finished sixth at the MW Championships with a personal-best 3,694 points, the eighth most in SDSU’s indoor history… Took third in the pentathlon at the NAU Mountain T’s Invitational with 3,501 points… Set new PRs in all five pentathlon events during the 2020 indoor season: 800m (2:23.67), 60m hurdles (8.90), high jump (5-05.75), long jump (17-10.75) and shot put (34-01.50)… Her high jump of 5-05.75 tied for the eighth-highest in program history.

Outdoor: Season was canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic.

2018-19
Indoor: Competed in three meets… Finished 13^th in the pentathlon at the MW Championships (2,059 points), 16^th in the high jump (5-01.75) and 17^th in the long jump (17-07.00)… Improved her time in the 600 by over five seconds… Ran a PR of 8.97 in the 60m hurdles.

Outdoor: Finished seventh in the heptathlon at the MW Championships (4,937 points)… Also competed in the long jump (17^th, 17-09.75) and high jump (18^th, 5-01.25)… Improved throughout in the season in nearly every event.

High School 
Started at Burlington-Edison HS in Washington before transferring to the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla… At Burlington-Edison was the 2016 Skagit Valley Athlete of the Year and the Freshman Newcomer of the Year… Set school records in the high jump at both of her high schools… Her top mark was 5-07.00 (1.70m)… Won Washington state championship in the high jump in 2016 and was runner-up in the 100m hurdles… Competed in the 2018 New Balance Outdoor Championships in the heptathlon… 2015 & 2017 Junior Olympic heptathlon All-American… Also competed in cross country, soccer, basketball and wrestling… Was her freshman class president and a member of the honor society.

Personal
Sara Elizabeth Absten was born in Mount Vernon, Wash. to Jennifer and Tim Absten ... Her sister is a Paralympic Track and Field athlete ... Majoring in kinesiology with hopes to become a neuropsychologist… Enjoys hiking, listening to music and spending time with friends.
