SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State track and field team wrapped up the heptathlon portion of the Aztec Invitational Thursday morning.

SDSU only had athletes compete in two (long jump and javelin throw) of the three events. Ruthie Grant-Williams who competed in every event aside from the 800m run was the top Aztec finisher with 4,068 points.

Grant-Williams took third in the long jump, clearing 17-07.00. Sara Absten placed fourth (17-06.75).

Grant-Williams also had the top mark among SDSU athletes in the javelin with a throw of 93-6 (28.51m), good for third place. Asia Smith came in fourth with a throw of 91-2 (27.79m). Sara Absten also competed (70-11, 21.63m).

No Aztecs ran in the heptathlon's final event, the 800m run.

Cari Acosta and Felicia Crenshaw competed in the hammer throw in Chula Vista with Acosta coming in 9th (141-8) and Crenshaw placing 12th (139-2).
