Aztecs Complete First Day at UNM Collegiate Classic

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Aztec track and field team wrapped up their first day of the UNM Collegiate Classic at the Albuquerque Convention Center Friday evening. Three Aztecs recorded marks that put them in the top 10 all-time in SDSU's indoor record book.
 
Sara Absten finished third in the pentathlon, finishing with a personal best score of 3,851 points, the sixth most in school history. She won the long jump with a leap of 19-04.25 (5.90m), the 10th best mark ever. She also had top five finished=s in the 800m run (2:25.23) and 60m hurdles (8.80).
 
Freshman Jenna Fee Feyeraband had 3,740 points in her first collegiate pentathlon, the ninth most in program history.  She won the shot put with a throw of 40-09.00 (12.42m) and tied for fourth in the high jump, clearing 5-05.75 (1.67m), tying the height she cleared last week.
 
Ruthie Grant-Williams also competed in the pentathlon and had a PR of 3,181 points.
 
Jordyn Bryant had a weight throw of 52-01.00 (15.87m), the ninth best mark in SDSU's indoor history.
 
Nyjari McNeil finished third in the 600m run with a time of 1:33.22.
 
In the unseeded 200m dash, Rhea Hoyte (24.971) and Alexus Alexander (24.973) finished fourth and fifth respectively.
 
Corey Friedenbach set a new PR in the pole vault, clearing 12-08.00 to top her previous best of 12-06.25, she cleared three years ago while at Air Force.
 
Jade Cany placed seventh in the high jump (5-01.25) and Vanessa Spizewski cleared 17-10.25 in the long jump, good for 11th place.
