ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Aztec track and field team finished the first day of the Don Kirby Elite Invitational at the Albuquerque Convention Center Friday evening. Jayln Harris (200m) and Jordyn Bryant both posted top ten marks in school history and joined four other Aztecs in posting career-best marks.

Harris ran the 200m dash in 23.74 seconds, good for eighth place and the fifth fastest time in school history. Harris already owned the ninth fastest time, running a 23.92 nearly three years ago (Feb. 22, 2019). Harris' mark would be the third best time in the Mountain West entering the weekend,

Bryant had a weight throw of 55-02.00 (16.81m), the sixth best mark in SDSU's indoor history. Bryant cracked the top 10 last week with a throw of 52-01.00, which was the ninth best mark.

All three of the other Aztecs that ran the 200m also had new PRs. Aisha Watt finished in 24.61, placing 20th in the seeded portion. Rhea Hoyte (24.932) and Alexus Alexander (24.933) finished with nearly identical times in the unseeded event. Hoyte also ran in the unseeded 400m dash, finishing in eighth place (57.51).

Dejanae Thompson had a long jump of 19-01.50 (5.83m), beating her previous indoor PR by over a foot and placing 16th. Vanessa Spizewski came in 18th (18-09.00), Sara Absten (23rd, 18-04.50) and Jenna Fee Feyerabend (26th, 18-03.25, PR).
