108 Aztecs Named Mountain West Scholar-Athletes

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – San Diego State had 108 student-athletes named Mountain West Scholar-Athletes, the conference office announced on Monday.

The Scholar-Athlete honors are awarded to student-athletes who have completed at least two academic terms at their institution and have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.

With 20 student-athlete honorees, track & field earned the most awards of any Aztec squad. Swimming & Diving was second with 19, while women’s soccer and softball each had 11 apiece. All 14 San Diego State sports that compete in the Mountain West were represented.

San Diego State officially began its Pac-12 Conference era on July 1.
