2026 SEASON - FRESHMAN
Started 12 of her 28 appearances as SDSU’s only left-handed pitcher, finishing 7-6 with a 4.97 ERA across 62 innings… Struck out 32 hitters while limiting opposing hitters to a .279 average… Earned the win in her collegiate debut with a 1-2-3 seventh inning in the season opener against Minnesota… Also earned wins over Kentucky on Feb. 7 and Baylor on Feb. 12… Started against Fordham on Feb. 14, limiting the Rams to one run in five innings while striking out a season-high seven batters… Picked up the win in the second game of the day against Oregon State with 3.1 scoreless innings, surrendering just one hit and one walk while striking out three more… Earned the win against No. 19/24 Grand Canyon on April 19, striking out two without allowing a baserunner in three innings during the Lopes’ lone run-rule loss of the season… Started and picked up the victory in SDSU’s final win of the season at Fresno State on May 1 with just one run allowed in four innings… Also saw limited opportunities as a hitter, going 2-for-7 with a double at the plate and started at designated player in the season finale at Fresno State on May 2… Doubled for her first collegiate hit at Long Beach State on March 4 and added a single against Boise State on April 25.

CLUB BALL
Has played for All American Mizuno GOLD-Jackson (Sacramento, Calif.) since 2022... Spent 2017-19 with AASA/Lady Magic-Boykin in Dixon, Calif... Started out playing for team in three different cities: Sacramento's All American Mizuno-Pirkey (2015-16), Vacaville, Calif.'s Gameday Softball (2015) and Dixon's Dixon Girls Softball (2013-14).

HIGH SCHOOL
Lettered all four years at Red Bluff High in Red Bluff, California, serving as team captain in her final three seasons… Earned team MVP and first-team all-league honors in each of her first three seasons... Led the team with a 1.604 OPS and a .583 batting average as a sophomore before pacing the team once again with a .609 batting average and a 1.974 OPS as a junior... Also lettered in wrestling as a freshman.

PERSONAL
Mattison Lee Kwarta was born on November 6, 2006, in Davis, California… Daughter of Patricia and Bret Kwarta… Father was a football lineman at UC Savis from 1989-93 before playing professionally from 1993-96... Mother also played college softball... Is majoring in biology with plans of working in the medical field after graduation… Lists her favorite athlete as former Los Angeles Raiders running back and Kansas City Royals, Chicago White Sox and California Angels outfielder Bo Jackson… Chose SDSU over Oregon State, Colorado State, Fresno State and Loyola Marymount.... Likes to spend her free time with her horse, Epic, doing showjumping, 3-day eventing and dressage.
