Julie Parker enters her sixth season with the Aztecs having assumed the position as Director of Volleyball Operations in 2011.
Parker's role with the Aztecs includes overseeing game management, coordinating with officials, game day set up, managing home and away practice times, coordinating all team travel, overseeing team travel budget, controlling purchasing, assisting with on campus recruiting, coordinating community outreach programs and serving as assistant camp director.
Julie has had a career of coaching volleyball and working in sports administration as well as partnering in her family's contracting business. She has coached locally with Epic Volleyball Club, Coast Volleyball Club, The Bridge and Coronado HS boys' volleyball.
Parker has also coached girls JV and varsity basketball and taught Elementary PE at Beth Israel in San Diego. Her most recent coaching experience was in the spring of 2014 when she served as an assistant coach with the Mountain West All-Star team playing in the Global Challenge in Croatia.
Parker played her prep volleyball at Francis Parker High School in San Diego for John Cook, current head volleyball coach at the University of Nebraska. She went on to play at the University of New Mexico for two-time Olympian and Aztec volleyball alumna Laurel Brassey.
Julie is married to Jim Parker and has two children: Kelsey, who teaches English at San Diego State, and Scott, who is planning on attending SDSU.
