The Aztecs[apos] top returning pole vaulter ... expects to contend for another conference title after redshirting for the 2005 outdoor season ... from the same junior college that produced former Aztec pole vaulter and team captain Jesika Englebretson.

2005 - Finished in 12th place at the NCAA indoor championships with a vault of 13-01.50 ... recorded a personal-best leap of 13-08.25 at the Mountain West Conference indoor meet, which ranks second on the Aztecs[apos] all-time list ... was also runner-up at the Boise State Invite (13-00.25) and Mountain T[apos]s Invitational (13.01.50).

2004 - Competed in the NCAA outdoor regional, taking 14th with a jump of 12-10 ... third in SDSU history with her first-place clearing of 13-00.25 at the Tennessee State Invite ... mark also ranks fourth in conference history ... recorded NCAA regional-qualifying marks seven different times during the outdoor season ... logged victories at the San Diego City Championships and the Aztec Track Classic, ... placed second at the MWC outdoor championships and tied for second at the Cal-Nevada meet (12-11.5) ... won the MWC indoor championships with an NCAA provisional qualifying vault of 13-0.25 ... named the MWC indoor field performer of the meet ... also tied for first at the Boise State Invite on Feb. 14.

At Cuyamaca Junior College - Competed for two seasons with the Lady Coyotes, helping the team to a pair of conference titles ... runner-up at the junior college state meet in 2003 ... school record-holder, clearing 11-10 ... also owns the school[apos]s fourth-best mark of 11-1.

High School - Four-year letterwinner at Sweetwater High School in National City ... 2001 CIF pole vault champion and owns the school record of 12-0 ... 11th at the 2001 high school state meet ... Metro League pole vault champion ... an all-round athlete who also lettered four times in soccer and three times in tennis.

Personal - Erin Marie Asay was born March 17, 1983, in San Diego ... daughter of Mary Beth and Allan Asay ... recipient of the 2005 James Diehl Memorial Endowment ... sister, Dana, was an SDSU cheerleader ... hopes to pursue a career in nursing.
