SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State softball team (22-22, 7-12 Mountain West) will play its final home games of 2026 this weekend, when it hosts Boise State (20-29, 6-13 MW) for a three-game series at SDSU Softball Stadium.

The games are scheduled for 6 p.m. PT on Friday, 4 p.m. on Saturday and noon on Sunday. The games on Saturday and Sunday will air on the Mountain West Network.

SDSU is 25-16 against Boise State all-time, with all 41 contests coming since the Broncos joined the Mountain West for the 2012 season. In the Stacey Nuveman Deniz era (since the start of 2022), the Aztecs are 10-4 against Boise State. During that span, SDSU has won two of three games in all three three-game series. The teams split two regular season games in 2024, and San Diego State has earned victories in all three conference tournament games, with two in Boise and one in San Diego. Against eight common opponents so far this season, SDSU is 7-12 and Boise State is 5-13.

Last week, SDSU hosted then-No. 19/24 Grand Canyon for a three-game Friday-Sunday series. GCU led the whole game on Friday, but Olivia Gigante hit her team-leading 11th home run of the season, a two-run homer, for the Scarlet and Black. Jazmin Williams also hit her ninth home run of 2026 in the contest. On Saturday, Kaila Pollard hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the third inning, her fourth long ball of the season. However, the Lopes came back in the fourth and fifth inning to win the game. In Sunday’s game, Jade Ignacio led off the ballgame with a homer to give the Aztecs a 1-0 lead. After the Lopes tied the score in the second inning, SDSU struck six times in the bottom of the inning to go back in front. Ally Dueker walked with the bases loaded, Ignacio hit a sacrifice fly, Pollard added a two-run single and Quinn Waiki had a two-RBI double to make it 7-1 San Diego State. Angie Yellen hit a two-run homer to right field in the fourth inning to give the Aztecs an eight-run lead for a run rule victory. Matti Kwarta earned the win, retiring all nine batters she faced in the third, fourth and fifth innings. The game marked the first run-rule loss for Grand Canyon in 2026 and the largest margin of defeat so far this season for the Lopes.

Two-time MW Player of the Week Jade Ignacio (.391, .987 OPS, 5 HR, 33 RBI, 24 R, 9 2B, 5 SB) and Jazmin Williams (.358, 1.016 OPS, 9 HR, 30 RBI, 31 R, 6 SB) lead the Aztec hitters.
