A two-time academic all-Mountain West pick and Mountain West scholar-athlete in 2000, Sheriff finished his Aztec career with four 300-yard passing games, and ranking 10th in quarterback starts with 21, 11th in passing attempts, and 14th in both passing yards and completions. An honorable-mention all-league selection in 2000, Sheriff was the team co-offensive MVP that season and won the team’s President’s Award in 2021, which is presented to the player who has achieved the highest standards of athletic and academic excellence.
