1991 - Football Finishes with 52-52 Tie Against Brigham Young
David Lowery threw for a school-record 568 yards in a thrilling 52-52 tie with Brigham Young. Lowery was 28-for-39 for the game for the aforementioned 568 yards and five touchdowns. The game featured a combined 1,462 yards of total offense, including 1,167 through the air. Darnay Scott had eight catches for an astounding 243 yards and two touchdowns, while Marshall Faulk rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns, while adding six catches for 80 yards and another two scores. SDSU led, 45-17, at one point in the game in the third quarter, but the Cougars came roaring back. Lowery's 528 yards of total offense are also tied for the most in a game in SDSU history.

1990 - McGwire Leads Football Past New Mexico, 40-34
Dan McGwire threw for 530 yards and two touchdowns to give SDSU a 40-34 win over New Mexico. The 530 yards were the second most in a game in SDSU history at the time and are now the third most. McGwire was 33-for-49 in the game with two touchdowns. His 3,833 yards in 1990 rank as the second most in a season in program history, trailing only 3,932 by Todd Santos in 1987. McGwire's 528 yards of total offense are also tied for the most in a game in SDSU history.

2017 - Penny's Record Day Lifts Football Past Nevada, 42-23
Rashaad Penny totaled a school-record 429 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns to lift San Diego State to a 42-23 win over Nevada. Penny, who was named the Walter Camp Offensive Player of the Week for his effort, rushed 24 times for 222 yards (9.2 avg.) and two touchdowns, caught a 6-yard pass, returned two kicks for 131 yards, including a 100-yard touchdown, and returned a 70-yard punt for another score. The 429 all-purpose yards are tied for the ninth most in a game in NCAA FBS history and broke Marshall Faulk's school record of 422 vs. Pacific on Sept. 14, 1991. Penny became just the second FBS player since at least 1996 with a rushing touchdown, kick return touchdown and punt return touchdown in the same game (also Missouri's Marcus Murphy vs. Florida on Oct. 18, 2014) and the only player since 1996 with two rushing touchdowns, one kick return touchdown and one punt return touchdown.

2011 - Women's Basketball Knocks Off No. 18 DePaul 82-74
Fueled by a 10-0 run with just over five minutes remaining, the Aztecs turned a two-point contest into a 12-point advantage on their way to claiming a 82-74 upset victory over 18th-ranked DePaul in the first game of the Jack In The Box Rainbow Wahine Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Aztecs had four players score in double-figures, led by junior Courtney Clements, who eclipsed the 20-point mark for the second consecutive outing with 25, including 13 in the first half. Sophomore Kiyana Stamps continued to give the Aztecs an offensive punch off the bench with 17 points for the second game in a row. Sophomore Melissa Sweat and freshman Chairese Culberson both chipped in career highs with 14 and 10 points respectively.

1977 - Football Blows Out No. 13 Florida State, 41-16
San Diego State picked up its first victory over a ranked opponent in school history with a 41-16 victory over Florida State. The Aztecs wouldn't win another game against a ranked opponent until Oct. 12, 1981 against No. 12 Iowa State (W, 52-31). SDSU now has nine wins in program history against AP Top 25 teams.

2014 - Men's Basketball Holds 'Runners to 27 Points
The No. 16/16 Aztecs put on a defensive gem limiting the CSU Bakersfield Roadrunners to just 27 points on 21.4-percent shooting en route to a 51-27 victory Nov. 20, 2013. The 27 points allowed were the fewest a San Diego State team has surrendered in its 50 years as a Division I program and its fewest since Dec. 3, 1949, when it defeated Whittier, 39-27. At the time, the 12 first-half points given up by the Aztecs was tied for the fifth fewest allowed in the nation, are the second fewest allowed by the Aztecs since 1996-97. The total ranked second behind the 11 Southern Utah points in the first 20 minutes on Dec. 18, 2013.

1987 - Men's Soccer Begins Run to NCAA Championship Game
The Aztec men's soccer team won at St. Louis, a 10-time national champion, 2-1 in the first round of the 1987 NCAA Tournament. SDSU had lost two of their final four matches of the regular season to fall to 16-5-0 and anxiously awaited to find out if they would be invited to the NCAA Tournament. The Aztecs ended up being the final seed of the 24-team tournament and began one of the most improbable runs in college soccer history as they made it all the way to the NCAA Championship game.

1981, 1982, 1995 & 2012 - Volleyball Captures Four Conference Championships
The San Diego State women's volleyball team has used the week of Nov. 16-22 to clinch conference championships on four occasions in program history. On Nov. 18 and 20, 1981, the Aztecs cemented the Western Collegiate Athletic Association title with a pair of home sweeps over rivals Long Beach State (15-9, 15-2, 15-5) and USC (15-6, 15-7, 15-4), respectively, finishing atop the league standings with an 11-1 record, one match ahead of UCLA. The following year on Nov. 16, 1982, SDSU secured its second straight WCAA championship with a 3-1 road win at LBSU (15-13, 15-5, 8-15, 15-8). This time, the Scarlet and Black edged out Stanford for the crown, posting a 12-2 mark, while the Cardinal were 11-3. The 1981 and 1982 squads were the among the most powerful in school history, with the Aztecs recording consecutive third-place finishes at the NCAA Tournament. Fast forward to 1995, when SDSU defeated Wyoming 3-1 (15-13, 15-13, 15-5 (Nov. 17)) and Colorado State 3-2 (4-15, 15-6, 15-17, 15-12, 15-11 (Nov. 19)) to capture its lone Western Athletic Conference championship with a 13-1 record, two matches ahead of second-place BYU, which finished at 11-3. Then on Nov. 20, 2012, the Aztecs secured their most recent league title with a home sweep over Nevada (25-13, 25-11, 25-17), completing a 13-3 conference mark to claim a share of the Mountain West crown with Colorado State.
