2017 - Former Men's Golf's Xander Schauffele Wins Tour Championship
Former Aztec All-American Xander Schauffele became the first rookie to win the Tour Championship after claiming a one-stroke victory over Justin Thomas at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Ga. Schauffele finished third in the FEDEX Cup standings and would capture PGA Tour Rookie of the Year honors for the 2016-17 season.

1999 - Women's Soccer Rolls Past La Verne, 10-0
In the third game in program history, the Aztecs, led by head coach Chuck Clegg, saw the offensive flood gates open and set two marks which stands to this day. Now 31 years hence, the 10 goals and 10-goal margin of victory remain San Diego State women's soccer records. Holly Hamm and Merris Welch each scored twice in the game with the remaining six goals being spread individually among the Aztecs.

1964 - Jim Allison Rushes Football Past San Francisco State, 54-0
Jim Allison rushed for 271 yards and four touchdowns on just 20 carries to lift San Diego State to a 54-0 win over San Francisco State. The 271 rushing yards were a school single-game record at the time and remained a record until Marshall Faulk ran for a program-best 386 yards and seven touchdowns against Pacific on Sept. 14, 1991. Allison's 271 rushing yards currently rank seventh in SDSU single-game history, while his four touchdowns are tied for fifth. Allison rushed for 1,233 yards and 16 touchdowns over his two-year career from 1963-64.

Aztec Volleyball Looks Good in 1982 and 1995
During the week of Sept. 21-27, 1982, the San Diego State volleyball team was already making waves on the national level, defeating three straight conference opponents to spark a nine-match winning streak. As members of the old Western Collegiate Athletic Association (WCAA) for volleyball, the Aztecs knocked off eight ranked schools in that span, including former league rivals Stanford (#6), Arizona State (#11) and Arizona (#10) on consecutive days.
SDSU opened WCAA play on Sept. 22 of that year with a four-set home triumph over the Cardinal (15-6, 15-6, 8-15, 15-13) before quickly venturing to the Grand Canyon State for a pair sweeps against the Sun Devils (15-6, 15-10, 15-9) and Wildcats (15-11, 15-9, 15-6).
Buoyed by their road performances, the fifth-ranked Aztecs kept the momentum with two home victories the following week, surviving five-set marathons against No. 4 UCLA (15-4, 12-15, 9-15, 17-15, 15-12) and No. 9 Texas (15-6, 15-7, 8-15, 9-15, 16-14), before winning four straight at the Houston Invitational, where the Scarlet and Black toppled host Houston, No. 12 Northwestern, No. 15 Penn State and No. 9 Texas once again en route to the tournament title.
San Diego State, which set a program record with 39 victories in 1982 (39-6), ultimately captured its second straight WCAA championship that year and advanced to the NCAA Final Four, where it finished third after defeating Stanford in the consolation match.
The 1982 Aztecs set a single-season program record with a .300 hitting percentage and featured three first-team AVCA All-Americans in Mary Holland, Vickie Cantrell and Toni Himmer, who was also named WCAA Player of the Year that season. All three players are enshrined in the Aztec Hall of Fame.
In addition, the 1995 edition of the San Diego State volleyball squad used the week of Sept. 21-27 as a springboard to success that year. The Aztecs posted a pair of road wins over Fresno State (15-9, 15-12, 15-5) and Loyola Marymount (13-15, 15-10, 6-15, 15-12, 15-11) to ignite a 12-match winning streak.
Bolstered by the play of league co-MVP Jennifer Hamilton, the 1995 squad captured the Western Athletic Conference regular-season title and advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Mountain Regional before finishing with a 27-5 record.
