2008 - Men's Soccer Takes Down No. 7 California, 1-0
Despite playing the final 49 minutes, 52 seconds one man short, the San Diego State men's soccer team downed seventh-ranked California, 1-0 November 2, 2008 on the SDSU Sports Deck. Redshirt junior Jamel Wallace (San Diego, Calif./Oceanside HS) scored the game-winner for SDSU at the 23:00 mark. San Diego State showed a great deal of heart in the second half, despite being outshot, 13-4. Goalkeeper Jorge Rosales made five saves for his first solo shutout of the season and was named the Pac-10 Player of the Week for his performance.

2012 - Football Downs No. 19/14 Boise State, 21-19
The Aztecs utilized all three aspects of the game in a 21-19 win over No. 19/14 Boise State. Colin Lockett returned the opening kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown, and Adam Muema (127 rushing yards) and Walter Kazee each scored a rushing touchdown as SDSU won for the first time in program history on the road against a ranked team. Trailing 13-7, Dwayne Garrett blocked a punt, which set up the Muema score. Kazee later scored before San Diego State ran out the clock with 5:35 remaining. The Aztecs ended up sharing the Mountain West title that season with Boise State and Fresno State.

2017 - Football Runs Past San Jose State, 52-7
Rashaad Penny ran for 234 yards and three touchdowns and San Diego State had 648 total yards, including a school-record 554 rushing, in a 52-7 win at San Jose State. The Aztecs had a season-high 336 yards rushing in the first half alone and six rushing touchdowns in the game for the first time since 1991. Penny carried the ball only once in the second half, which went for a 64-yard touchdown. Juwan Washington added 134 yards and two touchdowns, while Chase Jasmin chipped in with 82 yards and another score for SDSU, which finished the 2017 campaign with a 10-3 record.

2017 - Utush Propels Women's Soccer to 2017 Mountain West Championship
Big-time players make big plays when everything is on the line. In the 2017 Mountain West Championship match, Aliyah Utush showed everyone what a big-time player looks like. The senior striker provided the Aztecs with all the offense they would need to capture the league title scoring all three goals in a 3-0 victory over New Mexico on Nov. 4, 2017. It was the fourth time in league championship tournament history that a player recorded a hat trick.

1988 - Football Upsets No. 20 Brigham Young, 27-15
San Diego State forced four turnovers to upset Brigham Young, 27-15, at Jack Murphy Stadium. The Aztecs intercepted Sean Covey and recovered three fumbles for their third victory over a AP Top 25 team in program history and first since 1981.
2016 - Women's Soccer's Barba Records Hat Trick in 2016 Mountain West Championship Game
On Nov. 5, 2016, then senior midfielder and current Aztec women's soccer assistant coach Victoria Barba, provided the Aztecs with three goals in the 2016 Mountain West Championship game against UNLV. All three tallies were produced in the second half with the final coming in the 89th minute, which sent the game into overtime. It was the third time in league championship tournament history that a player recorded three goals in a game. It was Barba's first collegiate hat trick, which tied her in second place on the program's single-game scoring list and the six points she earned in the game are tied for third most in a game by an Aztec.

2016 - Men's Soccer Blanks No. 11/10 UW
Redshirt freshman Pablo Pelaez (San Diego, Calif.) scored on a free kick in the waning seconds on November 6, 2016 to lift the No. 21/15 San Diego State men's soccer team to a 1-0 triumph over No. 11/10 Washington in a key Pac-12 showdown at Husky Soccer Stadium. With the victory, the Aztecs swept the regular-season series against the Huskies for the first time in program history.
Collectively, SDSU was outshot 16-7 for the match, but the trademark Aztec defense rose to the occasion, with redshirt junior Adam Allmaras (San Diego, Calif.) making four saves for his 10th clean sheet of the season and 20th of his career. The rugged contest also featured a combined 32 fouls, including 18 by UW, while the two sides were given four yellow cards apiece.

1984 - Volleyball Topples No. 1 Stanford
The San Diego State women's volleyball team knocked off No. 1 Stanford in four sets (15-5, 9-15, 15-9, 15-11) in front of 857 fans at Peterson Gym. The Aztecs, who were ranked 10th in the AVCA Coaches Poll at the time, received double-doubles from four players, led by Angela Rock, who posted match highs of 26 kills and 28 digs, as the Scarlet and Black handed the eventual Western Collegiate Athletic Association (WCAA) champion and national runner-up Cardinal the second of their only two losses in conference play that season. The SDSU cause was also aided by Renee Pankopf (15 kills, 10 digs, .406), Kim Harsch (11 kills, 17 digs) and Darci Pankhard (10 kills, 10 digs), while Kim Takacs led all players with 62 assists. Collectively, the Aztecs outhit the visitors .257 to .180 and maintained the upper hand in kills (75-68). The host school also set the tone for the evening by limiting Stanford to a .000 hitting percentage in the first set. (12-12-37). San Diego State finished with a 32-14 record in 1984, tying for second with UCLA at 11-3 in the WCAA standings before falling to USC in the NCAA West Regional semifinals. Individually, Angela Rock (first team) and Kim Takacs (second team) garnered AVCA All-America accolades to go with all-WCAA honors.
