SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State men's tennis team put the finishing touches on its home tournament Sunday with a light schedule of three singles matches at the Aztec Fall Invitational.

SDSU had two players compete in the State Flight, where freshman Jules Auffray (Hyeres, France) had his title hopes dashed after suffering a 6-4, 6-3 setback to San Diego's Marvin Schaber in the championship final. However, sophomore Alex Scemanenco (San Diego, Calif.) emerged triumphant in the third-place match, defeating UC Irvine's Matthew Sah in a super-tiebreaker, 6-3, 3-6, 10-8.

In the Aztec Flight, senior David Hough (Traralgon, Australia) was not as fortunate in his third-place encounter with UCLA's Eric Hahn, dropping a 6-1, 6-1 decision.

Meanwhile, freshman Daniel Traxler (Dallas, Texas) won by walkover against UCLA's Bryce Pereira in the consolation finals of the Warrior Flight.

SDSU also had three players travel to the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where senior Rafael Gonzalez Almazan (Madrid, Spain), junior Jan Kirchhoff (Berlin, Germany) and sophomore Aaro Pollanen (Helsinki, Finland) were eliminated from the pre-qualifying draw on Saturday. However, Sunday's consolation matches were canceled due to rain.
