OKLAHOMA CITY - For the third consecutive day, the SDSU swimming and diving team has put its mark on the Aztec Record Book. For the day, five different times have qualified for the top-five all-time marks in school history. After three days, San Diego State currently holds down the eighth spot with 119 points.
In the 400-yard individual medley, Sarah Davis swam a career- and season-best time of 4:30.11. That mark put her second all-time in school history. Teammate Emily Schmied finished with a time of 4:32.98, the second-fastest time of the season and fourth-fastest in school history.
In the 100-yard breaststroke, Jennifer Arrow swam a season-best time of 1:06.49. Her effort was the best of her four-year SDSU career.
Samantha Peters finished the 100-yard backstroke event with a time of 58.64. Her time was a season- and personal SDSU-best, as well as the third fastest time in school history. Katie Smith followed it up with a personal-best time of 58.73, the second fastest time of the year and fifth fastest all-time.
Closing out the day, the 400-yard medley relay team of Smith, Arrow, Schmied and Caitlin Friedhoff completed the race with a season-low time of 3:55.45, good for fifth best all-time.
Friedhoff also swam a 59.43 in the 100-yard butterfly.
The final day of the Mountain West Conference Championships continues tomorrow at Oklahoma City Community College.
