San Diego State Wins Second Straight; Opens Season 2-1
•- San Diego State wins its second consecutive game and opens the campaign with a 2-1 record for the second straight season. A 2-1 record after three games matches the best mark to open an Aztec season since the 1994-95 squad opened 3-0. In the last nine seasons, SDSU has opened 2-1 on five occasions (1995-96, 1996-97, 2000-01, 2001-02 and 2003-04) and have averaged 15.2 wins in those five seasons and finished .500 or better in four of those five campaigns.

SDSU Player Notes
•- San Diego State senior Chris Manker recorded his second double-digit game of the season and the fifth of his career. Manker was 6-of-7 in the first 20 minutes and ended the first half with 12 points. He ended the game with 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting and added five rebounds and three assists.
• - Aztec sophomore guard Brandon Heath set a career-high with nine assists. He tied his career-high of five assists in the first half. He also added five steals.
• - Junior John Sharper connected on three three-point field goals and became just the 17th Aztec to connect on 50 career treys. He is now in a tie for 16th place with 52 career three-point field goals. The junior also passed Al Faux for second on the school's career three-point field goal percentage chart. He tied his career-best with nine points in the game.
•- Marcus Slaughter recorded his third consecutive double figure scoring game of the season and the 11th of his career. It marks the first time the sophomore has posted three straight double-figure scoring games in his career.
