Chuck Lang

Senior Associate Athletic Director/Business Administration Chuck Lang began at San Diego State in 2007-08.

Lang oversees the business office, human resources, facilities and operations and the equipment room. He is responsible for financial reporting, developing and monitoring the department's budget as well as the day-to-day business operations of the department. Lang also serves as the sports supervisor for the women's soccer and baseball programs. He was promoted to a Senior Associate Athletic Director position in 2015 after serving as an associate athletic director from 2009-15, and an assistant athletic director from 2007-09.

Prior to arriving atop Montezuma Mesa, Lang was the associate athletic director for business and external operations at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee from 2002-07. While in Milwaukee, Lang oversaw the daily administrative operations of the department, which included developing budgets and directing human resources operations. He also supervised men's and women's soccer, marketing, development, tickets and event management, and business operations, and was the primary liaison for men's and women's basketball programs. Lang acted as the tournament manager for three Horizon League men's basketball championships.

Lang got his start in collegiate athletics at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, where he worked from 1995-2002 as the assistant athletic director for finance and operations (1998-2002) and the athletic business manager (1995-98).

Lang began his career in athletics with the Pittsburgh Pirates as a public relations assistant (1987-88). He then transitioned to United Baseball Inc. (1989-90), where he was the business manager for the group overseeing four minor league baseball franchises. From 1990-91, he was the president and general manager of United Baseball's Peninsula Pilots.

Lang also served as the Jefferson County Civic Arena manager (1993-95) and a communications operations assistant at U.S. Steel (1992-93).

Lang graduated in 1986 from Ohio University with a bachelor's degree in journalism, concentrating in public relations. He then earned his master's degree in business with a concentration in sport management from Robert Morris College in 1991.
