Brian Murphy

Brian Murphy joined the San Diego State athletic department staff in August 2003 as the video coordinator.

In his position, he films and edits the Aztecs' football games and practices and coordinates film exchange with other schools. He is in charge of all video packages used by the football coaches in their scouting and game preparation.

Murphy's responsibilities also include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the video room and assisting with the video needs of other SDSU sports.

In April 2017, he was named the Collegiate Sports Video Association Conference Video Coordinator of the Year for the the sixth time in his career (also 2003, 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2016). The honor, which was voted on by his peers, made Murphy a finalist for the Bob Matey National Video Coordinator of the Year award.

From 1997-2000, Murphy was an assistant video director with the San Diego Chargers. He filmed and edited games and practices and assisted the NFL with the Super Bowl held in San Diego in 1998. He also provided the NFL with video support for the 1999 Holiday Bowl.

Murphy lives in Poway with his wife, Shawna, and their daughters, Cali and Finley.
