A San Diego State alum, Ben Pearson returned to The Mesa in February of 2018. He currently oversees all SDSU athletics’ social media and is the primary media contact for the Aztec women’s basketball, men’s soccer and women's golf.
During his time at SDSU, he has also covered track and field, cross country, water polo, rowing and lacrosse.
Prior to coming to SDSU, he worked across town at the University of San Diego from 2012-18 as their video manager and media relations assistant. In his role, he oversaw all video production, ranging from on-demand video for digital platforms to the streaming of home athletic events, in addition to traditional sports information duties.
During his time at USD, he spent time as the primary media contact for the nearly all the Toreros’ DI teams including baseball, women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer and their nationally ranked volleyball team, among others. Additionally, he spent time as a play-by-play announcer, calling games for USD’s men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball and men’s soccer teams.
A native of the Seattle area, Pearson graduated from Gonzaga with a degree in broadcast and electronic media and then earned an MBA from San Diego State. He lives in San Diego and enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, two daughters and their dog.
