bio entering 2023-2024 season
Armando Ruelas was hired as Assistant Director of Marketing in June 2023. He oversees the marketing efforts for our Aztec baseball, men’s soccer, women’s basketball, and track and field programs. He is also responsible for organizing and directing all aspects of Aztec Village for football, and manages new media in relation to our mobile app and Aztec Rewards.
Previously, Ruelas was a marketing intern at SDSU for two years, and was able to experience a lot of great Aztec achievements throughout this time. He worked various Mountain West Conference tournaments in sports such as football, baseball, and softball; in addition to serving as the primary in-game producer for our Aztec baseball program. He also got the chance to work the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament Regional held at Viejas Arena in 2022 as a band and spirit liaison.
Born and raised in San Diego, Ruelas is an Aztec for life. He graduated from San Diego State University in May 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. In his free time, he enjoys listening to music and watching sports.
