Angie Garza

Angie Garza returned to Montezuma Mesa in the spring of 2012 as the director of athletic equipment services.

In her position, she oversees the purchasing, budgeting, fitting, maintenance and distribution of equipment for the entire Aztec athletic program, including the football team.

Previously, she worked at the University of San Diego as the manager of athletic equipment services for three years. At USD, her responsibilities included purchasing, budgeting, maintaining, fitting, laundering, organizing and distributing equipment for all 17 Torero varsity sports.

Garza's first full-time stint at SDSU was from 2004-09, when she was the assistant manager of equipment services. In that position, she helped supervise a staff of three full-time assistants and 12 student managers in the daily operations for 18 varsity sports.

The Los Angeles, Calif., native has a bachelor of science degree from San Diego State in child development with an emphasis in family development. As an undergraduate, she worked as a student equipment manager for the football team from 2001-04.

Garza is a certified member of the Athletic Equipment Managers' Association and resides in San Diego with her husband, Ricky.
