Was the junior class captain ... Became the Aztecs[apos] starting catcher after teammate Erin Floros went down with a knee injury 27 games into the season ... Did well behind the plate, posting career-highs in chances (342), putouts (310) and assists (26) ... The 310 putouts led the team ... Threw out 18 of the 36 (50 percent) who attempted to steal on her ... The 50 percent mark was second in the MWC behind Floros (52.4 percent) ... Also filled in for the injury-riddled Aztecs at first base ... Hit 10 doubles which tied her for 10th on the single-season list and tied Melissa Owens for the team lead ... Came into the season with just five doubles her previous two years ... Also posted career-highs in at-bats (143), hits (34 - tied), sacrifice flies (2 - tied) and sacrifice bunts (7) ... Led the team in times hit by a pitch (3) for the second straight season after finishing second in the category in 2005 ... In fact, she has been hit by a pitch 13 times over her three-year career ... Tied Owens for second on the squad with 23 RBI and her seven sacrifices were also second on the team ... Was one of four Aztecs who walked at least 10 times ... Tied Lindsey Marquez and Owens for tops on the team with six multi-RBI games ... After going homerless her first 106 at-bats, she hit a solo shot against Colorado State in the second game of a doubleheader on April 13 and followed that up the next day with her second career grand slam at New Mexico ... Also had two RBI against No. 12 Stanford (March 10), and in back-to-back games against Fairfield (March 17) and Iona (March 18) ... Was a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs driven in against Long Beach State on Feb. 25 ... Went 2-for-3 with three RBI versus Siena on Feb. 24 ... Had a hit in three of the Aztecs[apos] final four contests ... SDSU was 11-3 when she drove in at least one run, 9-1 when she doubled, 7-1 when she scored a run and 5-1 when she had at least two RBI in a game.

Hit six home runs, one short of the Aztec single-season record set by Erryn Gutjahr (7) in 1999 ... Led the team with six home runs, tied for the team lead with 21 walks ... Also led the team in hit by pitches (5) and was second on the squad in RBI (31) ... The 21 walks were tied for the eighth-most in a single season, while the 32 RBI was the 10th-most in a season ... One of five Aztecs to record seven multi-RBI games ... Had three or more RBI on three occasions ... Reached base safely in 38 of the 48 games she played in, including 14 of the 18 MWC games ... Her walk (21) to strikeout (15) ratio of 1.40 was tops on the team for the second consecutive year ... Was intentionally walked a team-high three times ... Led the team with three MWC homers and was second with 15 conference RBI ... Reached base safely in a remarkable 13 straight games from Feb. 24-March 17 ... Went 1-for-3 with her first career grand slam in the Aztecs[apos] 8-6 win over New Mexico (Game 1) on April 23 ... Had a three-run homer against Colorado State (first game) on April 21 ... After only earning four at-bats (1-for-4, .250) in SDSU[apos]s first four games, McDonald went on a tear over her next three contests, batting .778 (7-for-9) with a home run and seven RBI ... Fell one walk shy of tying for 10th place on the all-time SDSU single season list ... Was second on the team in RBI (19), on-base percentage (.351) and times hit by pitch (five) ... Led the squad with six multi-RBI games and three-RBI games (two) ... Aztecs were 6-0 when she had at least two RBI ... Had eight multiple-hit games, tied for fourth most on the team ... Walk to strikeout ratio (1.0) was the best on the team ... Had a season-long four-game hitting streak from May 6-12 ... Batted a remarkable .583 (7-of-12) during the four-game stretch, including three consecutive games with two hits ... Committed only four errors in 252 chances behind the plate for a .984 fielding percentage ... Had a home run and drove in two runs against Longwood (March 19) ...
