Entered 2020 as the co-backup quarterback, but dropped to fourth on the depth chart early on in the season ... Worked his way up to the starting quarterback for the team’s final two games of 2020 ... Entered 2021 competing for a starting spot with Lucas Johnson and Jalen Mayden, but was named the starting quarterback on Aug. 25 ... Started five games at quarterback and played in six overall, missing two with an injury and not playing for five straight weeks from Oct. 23-Nov. 19 ... Was 62-for-122 (50.8 pct.) for 830 yards and three touchdowns with one interception, posting a 114.4 pass efficiency rating ... Also rushed 48 times for 158 yards (3.3 avg.) and five touchdowns ... His five rushing touchdowns ranked in a tie for 35th in the country among quarterbacks (second in MW) ... If you take away the 10 times he was sacked (for 62 yards), he rushed 38 times for 220 yards (5.8 avg.) and five touchdowns ... Also rushed 45 times for 101 yards (2.2 avg.) with a long run of 20 yards ... If you take away the seven times he was sacked (for 37 yards), he rushed 38 times for 138 yards (3.6 avg.) ... Was not on the travel roster and did not play in each of the first five games of the season ... Entered the third series at Colorado State on Nov. 28 ... Played in three games, one under the NCAA redshirt rule, saving a year of eligibility ... Did not attempt a pass, but ran five times for 15 yards (3.0 avg.) with a long run of seven yards ... Did not play in the first nine games of the season, but was on the travel roster ... Made his Division I debut vs. Fresno State on Nov. 15, running once for two yards ... Led Laney College to the 2018 California Community College Athletic Association championship ... Team was 11-2 overall, winning its final six games, including a 40-35 win over Ventura College in the championship … Was named the MVP of the NorCal State championship game ... In his one season with Laney, was 180-for-285 (63.2 pct.) for 2,181 yards and 22 touchdowns against seven interceptions ...
