SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State women’s soccer team (7-3-1, 1-1-0 Pac-12) is back on the road for a match at Oregon State (1-9-2, 0-1-0 Pac-12) on Thursday evening in Corvallis. The match is scheduled for 6 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on the Pac-12 YouTube page.

Last Thursday, the Aztecs ended up on the wrong end of a 4-1 score against Boise State, but led in possession, shots on goal and corner kicks. SDSU scored its goal on a Victoria Miller penalty kick that tied the score heading into halftime. On Sunday, San Diego State picked up its first ranked win since 2017 and first Pac-12 conference win in a 1-0 victory at No. 22 Texas State on a goal by Mia Hambro Svendsen in the 77th minute. It came on a header off a Katie Senn corner kick. The Aztecs logged 19 shots on goal to just three for the Bobcats, two of which came in the first two minutes of the match as Kailey Carlen and SDSU posted their sixth shutout of the season. Oregon State lost by a 3-1 score in their Pac-12 opener at Washington State before a bye over the weekend.

Oregon State’s win so far this season came on August 19 against NAIA Bushnell by a 5-0 score. The Beavers have two draws, 1-1 against Utah on September 6 and 0-0 against Loyola Marymount on September 18. The teams have one common opponent this season, Washington, who bested each team by a goal. Then-No. 10 Washington won 1-0 on the SDSU Sports Deck on August 19 before falling to 11th in the rankings and winning 2-1 in Corvallis on August 30.

The Beavers have got the best of the Aztecs historically, leading 6-1-2 in the all-time series. However, all six of Oregon State’s wins and SDSU’s victory came before 2005. The teams have faced off twice previously in the Mike Friesen era, playing to a 1-1 draw on the SDSU Sports Deck on October 2, 2009, before a 2-2 tie in Corvallis on September 19, 2010.

SDSU returns home this weekend to take on Colorado State at noon on Sunday. All Aztecs home matches on the SDSU Sports Deck are free to attend, and all Pac-12 matches are streamed for free on the Pac-12 YouTube channel.
