SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State women’s soccer team (1-1) is set to face the Portland State Vikings (0-3) on the SDSU Sports Deck on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. The match will be broadcast on the Pac-12 YouTube page and early arriving fans will receive a free SDSU license plate frame.
SDSU got off to a good start in 2026 with a 2-0 win at UC San Diego last Wednesday. Kenny Moore scored a spectacular goal in the 22nd minute and Victoria Miller added on in the 55th minute. Goalkeeper Kailey Carlen made four saves in the shutout, earning Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week honors. This Wednesday, SDSU hosted the No. 10 Washington Huskies in what wound up being a defensive battle. The Aztecs led in time of possession and shots while the teams were able to put the same number of shots on target, but the Huskies came away victorious on a penalty kick in the 67th minute.
The Scarlet and Black have only ever faced the Vikings once before, winning 4-0 at home on September 7, 1997, in the Vikings’ second season at the Division I level.
San Diego State will finish up the homestand against Pacific at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 27. Early arriving fans will receive a free SDSU scarlet and cream hat. Admission is free to all matches on the SDSU Sports Deck and the Aztecs’ home matches are all streamed for free on the Pac-12 YouTube page.
