SAN DIEGO -- San Diego State’s Dylan Oyama has been named to the 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team, which was released Tuesday. An Aztec men’s golfer, Oyama made the team as a men’s at-large selection for a second straight season.

The CSC Academic All-District team honors the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom.  To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, maintain a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), and compete in 70 percent of tournaments that were team scoring events or be in the lineup during a conference championship. The CSC Academic All-District men’s at-large team consists of student-athletes who compete at the NCAA Division I level in ice hockey, lacrosse, water polo, fencing, rifle, skiing, golf, gymnastics, volleyball, and wrestling.

Oyama played in seven tournaments on the season, including six in the starting lineup. Oyama averaged 75.05 strokes per round, shooting a 1-under-par 215 in SDSU’s third-place finish at the Mountain West Championship. Oyama also was in the starting lineup for two of the three rounds at the NCAA Marana Regional. Oyama was the 2022-23 Mountain West Freshman of the Year and captured the 2023 MW individual title.

Off the course, Oyama has a 3.54 cumulative GPA while majoring in business administration with an emphasis in marketing. He has been a three-time Mountain West Scholar-Athlete (2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25) and a two-time member of the MW All-Academic Team (2022-23 & 2024-25).

After tying an MW record with four consecutive wins at the league championship from 2022-25, the Aztecs took third in their final MW event in May before ending the year at the NCAA Marana Regional. San Diego State officially joins the Pac-12 on July 1.
