ATLANTA – San Diego State senior Abby Storm made her first appearance of the week on Friday at the 2026 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, where she raced in the preliminary round of the 100 backstroke at McAuley Aquatic Center on the campus of Georgia Tech.

A native of Denver, Colorado, Storm came from behind to claim a victory in the second heat of the session, completing a strong swim of 52.31 to finish in a tie for 36th overall.

SDSU had one other swimmer participate on day three of the national meet, as Moa Bergdahl started in the first preliminary heat of the 200 breaststroke but experienced the misfortune of disqualification.

Storm will be back in action for the final day of competition at the NCAA Championships on Saturday, March 21 when she swims in the 200 backstroke.

Earlier this season,  Storm secured her spot for the national meet in the 200 back after surpassing an NCAA qualifying time at the Utah Tech Trailblazer Invitational, where she logged a career-best time of 1:53.27, which ranks second in school history.

Preliminaries of the 200 back are scheduled to begin at approximately 10:47 a.m. ET/7:47 a.m. PT, with the finals expected to start at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT.

Both sessions on Saturday will be streamed on ESPN+, and fans can also follow along with live results online or by using the Meet Mobile app.
