Aztec Swim and Dive Collects 46 All-MW Honors
SAN DIEGO – Fresh off its fifth straight conference title and seventh in the last eight years, the San Diego State swim and dive program garnered 46 all-Mountain West accolades at the 2026 MW Championships, held Feb. 18-21 in Houston, Texas. The announcement was made Wednesday by the league office in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
All-Mountain West honors are presented to the top eight finishers in each of the individual swimming and diving events, as well as the competitors on the top-three placing teams in each of the five relay events.
The Aztecs led the league with 14 individuals named to the all-MW team, while four of their five relay teams received all-conference recognition.
SDSU’s remarkable depth was on display throughout the week, as the Scarlet and Black recorded 36 placements in the championship finals, featuring two gold, seven silver and four bronze medals.
As a result, the Aztecs have captured a record 10 Mountain West crowns since the 2010-11 campaign. In addition, SDSU tied former conference member Brigham Young with its fifth straight championship after the Cougars claimed titles in the league’s first five years of existence from 2000-04.
Junior diver Isabella Gomez compiled a team-high 86 individual points at the conference meet, earning gold medals in platform competition and the team diving event, where she joined forces with fellow classmate Alina Skrocki and freshman Belen Cano.
In all, the Scarlet and Black boasted nine competitors who garnered three or more all-Mountain West accolades, including Alli Mann, who collected seven certificates, while Alyssa Schiller merited six plaudits, followed by Moa Bergdahl and Kaydence Bispo with five apiece.
San Diego State divers are now gearing up for the NCAA Zone E Championships, slated for March 9-11 in Flagstaff, Arizona. Meanwhile, the field of swimmers comprising the NCAA Championships will be announced on March 4, with the national meet scheduled for March 18-21 in Atlanta, Georgia.
