SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State softball program unveiled its 2026 schedule on Friday, featuring 28 SDSU games and three tournaments held at SDSU Softball Stadium.

The Aztecs will face six teams that made the 2025 NCAA Tournament, including Oklahoma, who advanced to the Women’s College World Series, and Texas Tech, who was in the Women’s College World Series Finals. In addition, the 2025 Mountain West Tournament champions will take on six teams that earned at least a share of their regular season conference title and four teams who did so in their conference tournament.

SDSU opens its season at home with the SDSU Season Kickoff tournament. In addition to the Aztecs, the event features Kentucky, Loyola Chicago, Minnesota and Miami (Ohio). San Diego State will take on the Golden Gophers at 4:30 on Friday, Feb. 6, followed by a game against the Ramblers afterwards. On Saturday, the Aztecs have another doubleheader, this one against the other two teams, playing the RedHawks at 2 p.m. and the Wildcats at 7 p.m.

The next weekend, SDSU will remain in America’s Finest City and host the Campbell/Cartier Classic. Baylor, Fordham, North Dakota and Oregon State will travel to The Mesa for the event. San Diego State will play the Bears at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12, and at 4:30 the next day. At 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13, the Aztecs will take on the Fighting Hawks. SDSU has one more multi-game day on Saturday, taking on Fordham at 2 p.m. and Oregon State at 7 p.m. The Aztecs and Beavers will meet again at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.

San Diego State hits the road for the first time the following weekend to play in the Mary Nutter Classic in Cathedral City, California. The Aztecs open the weekend at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19, against Oklahoma, whom the Aztecs took to extra innings on Opening Day last season. SDSU follows that up with a doubleheader on Friday against UC Riverside and Saint Mary’s at 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., both of whom San Diego State beat in the same event in 2025. SDSU wraps up the weekend with two more contests on Saturday, against Seattle U at 9:30 a.m. and Texas Tech at 2 p.m.

Back in San Diego, the Aztecs will play in the Torero Classic the next weekend, held on the campus of the University of San Diego. SDSU begins the weekend against the host Toreros on Thursday, Feb. 26, at 5 p.m. San Diego State plays twice on Friday morning, taking on CSUN at 9 a.m. and Washington at 11:30 a.m. The Aztecs and Huskies play at the same time on Saturday, followed by SDSU facing Kansas City at 2 p.m.

San Diego State plays the first of two midweek games on Wednesday, March 4, at Long Beach State at 5:30 p.m. The Beach is led by Head Coach Kendall Fearn, who spent the last three seasons as an assistant coach on The Mesa. The Long Beach State roster features Gabriella Terrones’ sister Malayna and Jayleen Hernandez’ sister Jiselle.

In the final weekend before conference play, SDSU and San Diego are co-hosting the San Diego Classic. The Aztecs will play three times, all at home. San Diego State plays Wisconsin on Thursday, March 5, at 6 p.m., Notre Dame on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. and Princeton on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

In its final non-conference game of the season, San Diego State will host California Baptist at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11. SDSU also played CBU in a home midweek game last season, winning 6-2 on February 25.

The Aztecs open conference play at home with a three-game series against Colorado State. SDSU will face the Rams at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 4 p.m. on Saturday and at noon on Sunday.

Up next is a two-week road trip. San Diego State heads to Las Vegas for three games at UNLV on Friday, March 20, at 6 p.m., at 3 p.m. the next day and at noon on Sunday. The following weekend contains the only Aztecs games of the regular season outside the Pacific time zone, a weekend set at New Mexico. The Friday-Sunday series has scheduled start times of 6 p.m., 2 p.m. and noon MT.

San Diego State returns home for five games at SDSU Softball Stadium. Utah State comes to town to play at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 2 and the next night. The weekend finishes with a noon game on Saturday. The following Wednesday, April 8, the reigning Mountain West regular season and tournament champions will battle in a doubleheader as SDSU plays Nevada at noon and 2:30 p.m.

That weekend, the Aztecs play at San Jose State with scheduled first pitch times of 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, and noon the next day.

SDSU returns to SDSU Softball Stadium for two more three-game weekend series. Both series will have games starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, 4 p.m. on Saturday and noon on Sunday. New conference member Grand Canyon will be in San Diego from April 17-19 before San Diego State faces Boise State in its final home games of the season from April 24-26.

The Scarlet and Black finish the regular season at Fresno State between Thursday, April 30, and Saturday, May 2. Thursday and Friday will feature night games at 6 p.m. before a Saturday matinee at 1 p.m.

Nevada will host this season’s Mountain West Championships, the final time that San Diego State will take part, in Reno, Nevada, from May 6-9.
