FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The San Diego State women’s soccer team hit the road on Thursday for the final time in the 2025 regular season for a match at Colorado State. Alexis Leath scored twice for the Aztecs in a 2-2 draw against the Rams.
Colorado State (9-3-4, 3-2-3 MW) got on the board quickly when Olivia Fout scored 3:20 into the match with an assist from Avery Boulom.
San Diego State (6-4-6, 2-2-4 MW) keeper Kailey Carlen made her first save of the day on another Fout shot in the 15th minute.
Ciara Jade Mitchell put the first shot on target for SDSU in the 28th minute but it was saved by Gray Willson.
Carlen stopped another shot by Fout, this one at the top of the net, midway through the 30th minute.
Mia Hambro Svendsen took a rebound and fired it back towards the goal in the 34th minute but the shot was saved.
With two minutes left in the first half, Leath took a shot towards the bottom left of the goal that was saved by a diving Willson.
The Aztecs opened the second half on the attack. Katie Senn put shots on target in the 48th, 53rd and 69th minutes but they were all saved.
Just seconds past the 50-minute mark, Alexys Ocampo found Leath, who rocketed the ball past Willson to the bottom right corner of the goal to tie the score.
In the 60th minute, Leath struck again off a Senn corner kick to give the Aztecs a 2-1 lead.
Mia Lane forced a save in the 81st minute before Leath did the same a minute later to keep the pressure on the Rams.
Colorado State’s Kate Dunne tied the score in the 86th minute.
Carlen made consecutive saves on shots by Mia Casey and Olivia Fout in the final minute of the match to preserve the draw.
San Diego State led in shots (15-14) and shots on goal (10-6) while Colorado State had more saves (8-4) and corners (8-7).
THE NOTE
Alexis Leath entered the match with two career goals, coming on September 18 against Nevada and September 28 against Colorado College. Leath matched that total on Thursday, doubling her career goal total to four with the brace.

San Diego State will be back on the SDSU Sports Deck for its final two matches of the regular season against Wyoming at noon on Sunday and against New Mexico at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 30. The Wyoming match will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network and admission is free to both matches.
