SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State women’s soccer team was back in action on Sunday at home against Utah State but fell by a 2-0 score.
Utah State (6-5-5, 3-1-3 MW) jumped ahead early when Mia Mullenmeister passed to Kaylie Chambers, who scored just 82 seconds into the match.
San Diego State’s (6-4-5, 2-2-3 MW) Alexys Ocampo put a shot on target in the 19th minute.
Katie Senn also had a shot on goal, coming in the 32nd minute.
Aztec keeper Kailey Carlen made her first save of the match on a shot by Tess Werts early in the 48th minute.
SDSU had a team save on Ellie Hendrix’ shot in the 52nd minute.
Carlen saved two more shots from Hendrix in the 83rd and 85th minutes.
The Aggies doubled their lead at 87:44 when Tess Werts scored and Mullenmeister tallied another assist.
San Diego State led in saves (4-2) while Utah State had more shots (12-9), shots on goal (6-2) and fouls (10-5) and each team had six corner kicks.

The Aztecs hit the road for the final time this season for a match at Colorado State at 3 p.m. PT on Thursday. SDSU will be back home for its final two matches of the regular season against Wyoming at noon on Sunday and against New Mexico at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 30.
