SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State swim and dive program unveiled its highly anticipated 2025-26 schedule on Tuesday, as head coach Mike Shrader and the Aztecs seek an unprecedented fifth consecutive Mountain West championship.

SDSU’s eagerly awaited docket commences on Friday, Sept. 19, when the Scarlet and Black visits the University of San Diego for the annual pentathlon meet between the two programs. Just one week later, the Aztecs will return to USD Sports Center Pool to face the Toreros in another crosstown battle on Friday, Sept. 26. Both competitions are slated for a 1 p.m. start.

SDSU will resume its role as road warriors for the next six team events, beginning with a dual meet against Pepperdine in Malibu, California, on Oct. 9, before continuing to the Central Valley for an annual appearance in the Fresno State Invitational, Oct. 10-11.

Following a three-week hiatus, the Aztecs will return to action for a four-team meet against California Baptist, Denver and UC Santa Barbara at CBU’s Lancer Aquatics Center, Oct. 31-Nov. 1, in Riverside, California. The two-day event features three opponents whom the Scarlet and Black have never faced in head-to-head competition since at least the 2000-01 campaign.

Another lengthy break awaits before SDSU swimmers jump back into the varsity pool for the Utah Tech Trailblazer Invitational, Nov. 19-22, in St. George, Utah.

Since the beginning of the 2017-18 season, the Aztecs have competed in 17 regular-season invitational meets and have finished outside of the top three just once during that span, logging four first-place performances, 10 second-place efforts and a pair of third-place results.

Meanwhile, SDSU divers will make the first of three visits to Flagstaff, Arizona, that same weekend for the first installment of the Lumberjack Invitational, set for Nov. 20-22, at Northern Arizona University.

The Aztec diving contingent will also enjoy one last competition before the holiday break when it travels up the freeway for the Riverside Collegiate Invitational, Dec. 18-20.

After ringing in the New Year, the Scarlet and Black will host consecutive double dual meets at Aztec Aquaplex, entertaining Vanderbilt and San Diego at Aztec Aquaplex on Jan. 2, followed by a clash with Cal State East Bay and Pepperdine on Jan. 5.

Representing the Southeastern Conference, the Commodores will be making their first appearance in “America’s Finest City” since Oct. 14, 2016, when SDSU claimed a 168-94 at the Aquaplex.

Aztecs divers will find themselves back in the spotlight the following week when they compete at the Bruin Invitational, Jan. 9-11, on the campus of UCLA.

Two weeks later, San Diego State will renew acquaintances with USD on Jan. 23, wrapping up its regular-season home slate to highlight Senior Day festivities.

As the month draws to a close, Aztec divers will take center stage once again when they return to the Grand Canyon State for the second edition of the Lumberjack Invitational, Jan. 29-31.

For the fourth straight season, the Mountain West Championships will be contested in Houston, Texas, where SDSU looks to defend its conference crown, Feb. 18-21, at CRWC Natatorium on the University of Houston campus.

Last year, SDSU captured its fourth consecutive MW title and sixth in the past seven seasons after finishing with 1,283 points to hold off second-place UNLV (1,178) by 105 points. Upon completion of the campaign, Roland McDonald was named Mountain West Diving Coach of the Year for the second straight season and fourth time in his 15 years on The Mesa.

Postseason competition ramps up the following month when Aztec divers pay another visit to Northern Arizona’s Wall Aquatic Center for the NCAA Zone E Championships, March 9-11, in Flagstaff.

Shortly thereafter, SDSU’s pursuit of national glory continues for select qualifiers, March 18-21, when the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships convene at McAuley Aquatic Center on the campus of Georgia Tech in Atlanta.

The Aztecs return 14 letterwinners from last year’s squad, including Moa Bergdahl, Alli Mann and Abby Storm, who each collected five all-Mountain West honors following the 2025 conference championships.
