SAN DIEGO – San Diego State men’s tennis has earned two all-conference nods, the Mountain West announced on Tuesday. Eugenio Gonzalez Fitzmaurice picked up All-Mountain West Singles honors while Alexander Mandma and Mathieu Josserand received doubles recognition. These are the first all-conference honors for all three Aztecs.
San Diego’s own Gonzalez Fitzmaurice has led the Scarlet and Black through the 2025 campaign, playing on the top two courts in 16 matches. The junior has seven dual singles wins on the season, six of which were won in straight sets. His key victories include a 6-2, 6-7 (3-7), 6-4 win over Grand Canyon’s Nikita Volonski to clinch the match over the Lopes and a 6-3, 6-4 win over Illia Maksymchuk in the team’s first conference win over UNLV.
Mandma and Josserand have made 11 appearances on the top court in doubles competition this season, tallying six wins. Key victories include a 7-6 (7-5) win over UC Irvine’s Nguyen/Zamora to clinch the doubles point, as well as a 6-4 victory against Friedler/Vohl in the team’s win over Tulane.
The No. 6 seeded Aztecs begin the first round of the Mountain West Championship on Wednesday, taking on No. 3 seeded Utah State at 5 p.m. in Las Vegas.
