ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Jenna Fee Feyerabend won the pentathlon to pace San Diego State on the first day of the 2025 Mountain West Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Albuquerque Convention Center Thursday in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Feyerabend totaled 4,183 points, the second-highest point total of her career. She becomes the sixth different Aztec to win a MW pentathlon title and SDSU has now claimed nine of the 25 indoor pentathlons in the history of the league.
Feyerabend opened the five-event competition with a runner-up finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 8.70 seconds to gain 974 points. She then was the only competitor to clear 1.73 meters (5 feet, 8 inches) in the high jump, attaining another 891 points. Feyerabend next won the shot put with a personal-best toss of 13.72 meters (45-0.25) for 775 points. In her penultimate event, Feyerabend came in second in the long jump with a leap of 5.78 meters (18-11.75), collecting 783 points. She finished the grueling event by clocking a time of 2:24.76 in the 800-meter run for a final 760 points.
San Diego State also competed in the distance medley relay, coming in seventh with a time of 12:50.62. Samantha Wood ran the 1,200-meter leg, followed by Takiyah Blue in the 400, Sara Jones in the 800 and Vanessa Cabello anchoring in the 1,600.
After two of 17 events, the Aztecs are in third place with 10 points, trailing host New Mexico (19) and Air Force (17). Colorado State and Utah State are tied for fourth with eight points.
The second day gets underway for SDSU at 1 p.m. MT (noon PT) Friday with the long jump and concludes with the high jump starting at 4:45 p.m. PT (3:45 p.m. PT).
