SAN DIEGO – San Diego State women’s tennis wrapped up their main draw matches at the ITA Southwest Regional Championships on Saturday with the conclusion of the doubles round of 16.
After a first-round bye, Ninon Martinache and Jo-Yee Chan earned an 8-5 win over Fullerton’s Kaytlin Taylor and Diana Yanotovskaya on Saturday morning in the round of 32. The duo was unable to hang on in the round of 16, falling 5-8 to Ahmani Guichard and Anne-Christine Lutkemeyer of UCLA.
Zoe Olmos/Vesa Gjinaj and Charlotte Roesch/Gloria Alogo did not advance through the round of 32, coming up short against Taylor Goetz/Duru Soke (Pepperdine) 4-8 and Kate Fakih/Olivia Center (UCLA) 3-8, respectively.
Four Aztecs picked up wins in consolation singles matches to close out day three:
