Aztecs Fall in Semis

PALM DESERT, Calif. – The San Diego State men's tennis team's combo of Eugenio Gonzalez Fitzmaurice and Liam Spiers finished play in the National Collegiate Tennis Classic on Sunday. They lost their doubles semifinals match on the final day of the tournament in Palm Desert, California.
 
The duo matched up with Loyola Marymount's Yassine Smiej and Sebastian Nothhaft for a trip to the finals. The Aztecs took the first set 6-2 but dropped the second 6-4. The tiebreaker was close, but the Aztecs came up just shy 10-7.
 
Next up for San Diego State is a doubleheader against Loyola Marymount and Sacramento State next Sunday, January 21, at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., respectively, at the Aztec Tennis Center.
