Feyerabend in 11th After First Day of Heptathlon

EUGENE, Ore. – Jenna Fee Feyerabend was the lone Aztec in competition at Hayward Field on Friday afternoon, competing in the first four events of the heptathlon. Through those four events, she totaled 3,486 points and currently sits in 11th place.
 
The junior's day started on the track in the 100m hurdles where she crossed the line in 14-seconds flat. It marks a personal best, giving her 978 points toward the heptathlon standings. She finished 15th overall in the field.
 
Transitioning to the field events, Feyerabend recorded a season best in the high jump clearing the bar at 1.75m (5-8.75). The height was good for 12th place and added 916 points to her total. Next up was shot put where her first of three attempts went 13.79m (45-3) for a sixth place finish and 780 points.
 
The first day ended on the track with the 200m dash. Finishing the race in 25.83 seconds, she finished 23rd and earned 812 points toward her total.
 
Feyerabend's 3,486 points is 308 behind the leader and 22 points behind 10th place at the end of day one. The final three events of the heptathlon will start with the long jump at 10:30 a.m. followed by the javelin at 11:45 a.m. and end at 4:13 p.m. with the 800m.
 
Joining Feyerabend on the final day of the NCAA Championships is Xiamara Young in triple jump. She will compete for her second all-American honor starting at 2:50 p.m.
