KINGSTON, Jamaica – Shaquena Foote raced in the 400m finals at the JAAA/Puma National Championships on Sunday afternoon at National Stadium in Jamaica. She finished eighth overall, crossing the line in 53.16 seconds.
She was one of just two collegiate competitors in the race competing against Nickisha Pryce of Arkansas, who won the event with a time of 50.01 seconds.
A native of Westmoreland, Jamaica, Foote was competing to secure a spot on the Jamaican National team for this summer’s Paris Olympics.
