SAN DIEGO – On Tuesday, the NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Subcommittee selected the 64 singles players to compete in the 2024 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships and Aztec Women's Tennis' Andjela Skrobonja was named as the Mountain West's automatic qualifier. The tournament will be held from May 20-25 at Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater, Okla.

San Diego State's wins leader in overall record (21-8), dual matches (17-3) and conference play (7-1), No. 98-ranked Skrobonja went 2-1 in the Mountain West Championships to help lead the Aztecs to the conference title over UNLV. After falling in the season opener to Pepperdine's No. 21-ranked Savannah Broadus, Skrobonja bounced back by winning her next ten matches and only losing once the rest of the regular season. She played in all 22 of SDSU's dual matches, primarily on the second court. When Kabbaj missed a pair of matches to open conference play, Skrobonja filled in on the top court and earned wins at Utah State and Boise State.  She also earned wins in two of her three matches against ranked opposition, beating California's No. 51 Valentina Ivanov in straight sets and knocking off San Diego's No. 47 Mia Mack. Skrobonja has been consistently ranked and has gone as high as 71 in the national rankings.

As a team, the Aztecs are also playing in the NCAA Championships. No. 62-ranked San Diego State will play at No. 8-ranked UCLA at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 3 in the First Round of the NCAA Team Championships.
