SAN DIEGO – This week, the San Diego State women's tennis team heads to Las Vegas for its final match of the 2024 regular season. The Aztecs will play at UNLV at 10 a.m. on the morning of Friday, April 19. With a win, first-place SDSU would win the regular season Mountain West championship for the first time since 2013.

No. 60-ranked San Diego State (13-5, 7-1 Mountain West) is the Mountain West's lone ranked team. Last week, SDSU played shorthanded and had to default in singles and doubles but won 4-1 over both Colorado State and Fresno State in its final two home matches of the season. The Aztecs are led by No. 97-ranked Yasmine Kabbaj (11-2), last week's Mountain West Player of the Week, and No. 87 Andjela Skrobonja (14-2). Kabbaj has had a strong start to the conference season and holds a perfect 4-0 record in Mountain West play. Meanwhile, Skrobonja has earned a victory in 14 of her last 15 matches including wins in all six conference matches. In doubles, Skrobonja and Andreea Velcea, the two returners from last year's Aztec squad, won their 11th consecutive match in Sunday's victory to improve to 11-0 when playing on the second court.

UNLV (13-7, 6-3) fell 4-2 to Colorado State on Sunday to snap a three-match winning streak. The Rebels are in fourth place in the Mountain West standings. The Aztecs lost 4-2 when the teams met last season to fall to 16-24 in the all-time series.
