SAN DIEGO – The No. 60-ranked San Diego State women's tennis team returned to the Aztec Tennis Center for a match against Colorado State on Friday afternoon. The Aztecs had to default on a court in both singles and doubles since they only had five active players due to an injury to Gloria Alogo. Despite the defaults, SDSU won the doubles point and three singles matches in a 4-1 win.

The Scarlet and Black win their fifth straight match and improve to 12-5 and 6-1 in conference play and drop the Rams to 8-10 and 4-4 in Mountain West matches.

In doubles, SDSU defaulted on the third doubles court with Alogo out. Andreea Velcea and Andjela Skrobonja (10-3) paired up on the second court. Facing Zara Lennon and Sarah Weekley, The Aztecs earned a shutout 6-0 win. On court No. 1, Yasmine Kabbaj and Myah Petchey (7-5) played against Radka Buzkova and Viktoryia Zhadzinskaya. The Aztecs cruised to a 6-3 win to clinch the doubles point.

Colorado State evened the score at one as the Aztecs were forced to default on the sixth court.

No. 84-ranked Skrobonja (13-2) matched up with Buzkova on the second court. Skrobonja was consistent in a 6-2, 6-2 win.

On the third court, Petchey (8-5) faced Luana Avelar. The Aztec cruised to victory, winning 6-1, 6-1 in straight sets.

Velcea (10-4) faced Weekley on court No. 4. She earned a 6-4 win in the first set and coasted in the second, winning 6-1 to clinch an Aztec victory.

Two matches went unfinished. Facing Zhadzinskaya on the fifth court, Zoe Olmos (7-7) was tripped up 6-3 in the first set. The second was even at three when the Aztecs clinched a win. No. 96-ranked Kabbaj (11-2) battled Lennon on the top court. After dropping the first four games, Kabbaj tied the first set at four but could not get any farther in a 6-4 defeat. She led the second set 5-3 when Velcea clinched the match.

San Diego State will play its final home match of the season at the Aztec Tennis Center against Fresno State at noon PT on Sunday, April 14. The Aztecs will honor seniors Petchey, Skrobonja and Velcea prior to the match.
