SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State women's tennis team will begin Mountain West play this weekend, when it travels for two road matches. The Aztecs will play at Utah State at 11 a.m. MT/10 a.m. PT on Friday, March 15, and at Boise State at the same time on Sunday, March 17.

No. 59-ranked San Diego State (6-4) is the only ranked team in the Mountain West. The Aztecs are still looking for their first road win this season. The Aztecs' top players so far this season have been No. 73-ranked Yasmine Kabbaj (7-2) and No. 120 Andjela Skrobonja (8-1). Skrobonja dropped her season opener at Pepperdine but has responded by winning seven straight. The pair has held their own against top competition with a combined 4-3 record against ranked opponents. In doubles, Skrobonja and Andreea Velcea, the two returners from last year's Aztec squad, are 6-0 this season when playing on the second court, their primary position. Those wins are over SDSU's last six matches including a 6-1 win over a ranked pair from San Diego in the Aztecs' last match.

Utah State (3-7) has dropped four straight matches but won consecutive matches prior to its losing streak. The Aztecs shut out the Aggies 4-0 last season to even the all-time series at two.

Last time out, Boise State (4-6) won 7-0 in both matches of a doubleheader against Lewis & Clark State to snap a four-match losing streak. SDSU is 8-2 against the Broncos all-time with the Aztecs winning 4-2 in last year's regular season but Boise State taking the Mountain West Championships match 4-3.
