SAN DIEGO – This weekend, the San Diego State women's tennis team will travel to Tucson, Arizona, for a pair of matches. The Aztecs will face the host Arizona Wildcats at 2 p.m. MT/1 p.m. PT on Friday and Maryland two hours earlier the following day.

San Diego State (2-1) is coming off consecutive wins over Loyola Marymount and UC San Diego. While the Aztecs have yet to win the doubles point this season, SDSU is 9-2 in singles over its last two matches. Yasmine Kabbaj, Andjela Skrobonja, Gloria Alogo and Andreea Velcea have each won both their singles matches in that time frame while No. 111-ranked Myah Petchey led but did not finish against LMU and won her match against UC San Diego.

Arizona (5-2) is off to a hot start this season with a 4-0 result in each of its five wins. In the all-time series, the Aztecs hold a 14-10 lead over the Wildcats. However, Arizona won 4-2 when the two faced off last season in Tucson.

Maryland (3-1) won its first two matches of the season 7-0 before dropping the doubles point to UNLV in a 4-1 win. The Terrapins' lone loss came at the hands of No. 2 Stanford. Maryland is led by Selma Cadar, who is ranked No. 54 in singles and No. 44 in doubles with Mary Brumfield. San Diego State has never played Maryland but holds a 28-12 record against Big Ten schools.

San Diego State will have some time off following this weekend. Next up for the Aztecs are three home matches in six days against Hawai'i at 2 p.m. on February 14, Long Beach State at 1 p.m. on February 16 and California at noon on February 18.
