SAN DIEGO – San Diego State lacrosse announced the hiring of Rob Bray as an assistant coach.

Bray spent last season as the head women's lacrosse coach at NCAA Division III Russell Sage College in Albany, New York. He led the Gators to a 4-3 road record in a 5-8 season.

Prior to his time at Russell Sage, Bray served as an assistant coach at Vanderbilt, where he led the offense for four years. In 2019, his first season with the Commodores, Vanderbilt compiled a 10-6 record for its first winning season in nine years. Bray's offense finished in the top ten in the nation in assists and top 15 in points per game while leading the Southeastern Conference in shots per game. The following year, in a pandemic shortened season, Vanderbilt averaged 13.22 goals per game while placing second in the SEC in points and assists per game. In the ensuing season, Bray helped coach the Commodores to a 12-7 record and their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 11 years.

Before heading to Nashville, Tenn., Bray spent time in Oregon. He coached Churchill High School to consecutive league titles and state playoff berths in 2017 and 2018. He also spent time at the college ranks in the Beaver State, serving as an associate head coach and assistant coach for the first 13 years of the program's existence at Oregon. The Ducks were 129-105 while Bray was in Eugene, highlighted by a 2012 season in which Oregon went a perfect 7-0 in MPSF play on their way to the first conference championship in school history and a NCAA Tournament play-in game appearance.

Bray served as the head coach at St. Mary's College (Maryland) for four seasons.

A 1991 Potsdam graduate, Bray has two daughters.
