BERKELEY, Calif. – The Aztec men's soccer team (6-6-5, 0-6-3) fell at California (7-5-5, 3-3-3) 1-0 Sunday afternoon. SDSU edged the Golden Bears in both shots (16-13) and shots on goal (5-3) but couldn't find the back of the net.
The Bears scored their lone goal with just two seconds remaining in the first half when Adrian Guzman completed the assist from Fernando Lara and Evan Davila.
The Aztecs had four of their five shots on goal in the first half.
Beto Apolinar led SDSU with four shots.
SDSU goalkeeper Logan Erb had two saves while Cal's Connor Lambe had five saves in the shutout.
THE NOTE
The Aztecs' 16 shots were their most in a Pac-12 match this season.
