AUSTIN, Texas - The 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championships began for the Aztecs Friday afternoon with day one of the heptathlon. The Aztecs' sophomore Jenna Fee Feyerabend finishes the day in 11th in the event after the 100m hurdles, high jump, shot put, and 200m.

Fee Feyerabend posted a solid opening mark to the meet in the 100m hurdles. The sophomore ran 14.07 to win her flight and place 16th overall, earning 968 points in the first event.

In the second event of the day, the high jump, Fee Feyerabend cleared 5-07.75 (1.72m) to take sixth overall to add 879 points to her score after two events.

As for the shot put, the sophomore placed within the top six. Fee Feyerabend added 768 points to her total with a throw of 44-8 (13.61m).

In the final event of the day, the 200m dash, Fee Feyerabend placed 20th overall with a mark of 25.61 (+1.6), setting a new personal record in the 200m.

Jenna Fee Feyerabend ends day one in 11th place (3447 points) in the overall heptathlon standings with three events to go tomorrow.

Fee Feyerabend will continue heptathlon competition tomorrow with the long jump (2 p.m. PT), javelin throw (3:15 p.m. PT), and 800m (7:42 p.m. PT) while Simone Johnson competes in the triple jump at 6:10 p.m. PT.
