SACRAMENTO, Calif. –The Aztec Track and Field team wrapped up competition at the NCAA West Regionals with eight athletes and two relay teams competing on the final day of the meet. Simone Johnson punched her ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the triple jump while Jenna Fee Feyerabend previously earned her spot in the heptathlon after ranking in the top 24 in the country.

Both Fee Feyerabend and Johnson will make their return to the NCAA Championships after competing in the NCAA Indoor Championships earlier this season.

Junior Simone Johnson punched her ticket to the championships after a phenomenal triple jump performance of 43-09.25, finishing 10th overall.

Sophomore Jenna Fee Feyerabend will compete in the heptathlon championships after solidifying her place in the Top 24 performances after earning a gold medal at the 2023 Mountain West Outdoor Championships. Her performance of 5752 points set a new PR and the third best mark in SDSU outdoor history.

In the 400m dash, Shaquena Foote competed in the quarterfinals, finishing 17th overall after running 52.21. As for the 800m run, Alex Lomeli placed 22nd overall with a mark of 2:08.17. Jessica Kain competed in the 1500m and ran 4:18.51, earning a 18th place finish.

Competing in the 100m hurdles, Danae Dyer and Charlize James placed 19th and 22nd respectively. Dyer finished in 13.33 while James followed with a mark of 13.54.

In the field events, the Aztecs had Felicia Crenshaw competing in the discus throw and Jenna Fee Feyerabend in the high jump on Saturday afternoon. Crewnshaw finished 41st with a performance of 157-6, while Fee Feyerabend cleared 5-07.75 to finish 33rd in the high jump.

Both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays competed, finishing in 22nd and 19th respectively.  The 4x100 squad finished in 44.60 while the 4x400 team in 3:37.86.

Up Next: Jenna Fee Feyerabend and Simone Johnson will head to Austin, Texas to represent the Aztecs in the NCAA Outdoor Championships, held June 7-10.
