SAN DIEGO – One former Aztec played in the NBA Playoffs, four more saw action in the MLB and another competed on the PGA Tour.
In the NBA, forward Jalen McDaniels (2017-19) played 11 minutes in Philadelphia's game one 119-115 win over Boston and grabbed an offensive rebound. Game two is scheduled for Wednesday night in Boston.
Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard (2010-11) missed game five with a knee injury. Phoenix eliminated the Clippers by winning the game.
In the MLB, Seattle infielder Ty France (2013-15) played in all six of his team's games last week with four starts at first base and two pinch hit appearances. This season, he is batting .245 with a .339 on-base percentage, one home run, 15 RBIs, 17 runs scored and a stolen base.
Infielder David Hensley (2015-18) started three games at designated hitter for Houston. He doubled and scored on Sunday. This season, Hensley has eight hits with two RBIs, eight runs scored and a stolen base.
Catcher Seby Zavala (2012-15) played three times behind the dish with two starts for the Chicago White Sox. This season, he has six hits with one home run, two RBIs, four runs scored and a stolen base.
Colorado infielder Alan Trejo (2015-17) started at second base four times. During the week, he singled twice, with the one on Saturday driving in a run. Trejo also scored a run. This season, he is batting .214 with five RBIs and three runs scored.
Washington pitcher Stephen Strasburg (2007-09) is on the 60-Day IL.
On the PGA Tour, Scott Piercy (1999-2001) tied for 39th in the Mexico Open at Vidanta at seven-under-par. Xander Schauffele (2013-15) is ranked fifth in the world and 21st in the FedEx Cup and has won seven PGA Tour events in his career. J.J. Spaun (2009-12) ranks 72nd in the world and 61st in the FedEx Cup with one career PGA Tour victory. Piercy has four career PGA Tour wins. Next weekend, all three will compete in the Wells Fargo Championship in Charlotte, North Carolina, May 4-7.
