SAN DIEGO - 12 Aztecs were selected to the 2023 Mountain West Outdoor Track & Field All-Conference Team after last weekend's conference championships held in Clovis, California.

Ashley Callahan, Danae Dyer, Jenna Fee Feyerabend, Shaquena Foote, Rhea Hoyte, Charlize James, Simone Johnson, Jessica Kain, Alex Lomeli, Jada Moore, and Aisha Watt earned the distinction after placing in the top three of their events throughout the weekend.

The 4x100 relay team made up of Aisha Watt, Jada Moore, Danae Dyer, and Shaquena Foote finished first with a time of 44.08 to earn the MW all-conference honor.

Watt also competed in the 100m dash, 200m dash, and 4x400 relay where she also received the conference honors.

Seniors Jessica Kain and Alex Lomeli secured the conference distinction after their distance races with Kain placing second in the 1500m and Lomeli third in the 800m.

Danae Dyer earned all-conference honors in the 100m hurdles, winning her third consecutive Mountain West title with a PR of 13.22 while freshman Charlize James also had an impressive showing, finishing second, crossing the finish line just behind Dyer with a 13.33 finish.

Competing in the 400m dash, Shaquena Foote placed first with a personal best time of 52.57 while Rhea Hoyte represented the Aztecs in the 400m hurdles finals where she won the Mountain West crown with a mark of 58.80.

Sophomore Jenna Fee Feyerabend earned the honor after a first place finish in the heptathlon with 5752 points, setting a new PR, and the third best mark in SDSU outdoor history.

Simone Johnson was named all-MW in the triple jump after taking second with a mark of 43-03.

UP NEXT

SDSU track & field will compete next at the NCAA West Preliminary Championships in Sacramento, California. The competition will begin Wednesday and wrap up on Saturday, May 24-27.
