CHANDLER, Ariz. – The San Diego State men's golf team sits in sixth place after two rounds at the Cowboy Classic in Chandler, Arizona. The Aztecs logged rounds of 285 and 291 on the par-72, 7,334-yard course at the Whirlwind Golf Club on Monday to put them at even par for the tournament.

San Diego State, which is 28th in the latest GolfStat computer rankings are in seventh place at even-par. Missouri leads the field at 11-under par, followed by Kansas at 10-under par and Pacific at five under-par.

Freshman Chanachon Chokprajakchat leads the Aztecs after rounds of 69 and 73, and is tied for 13h out of 113 golfers at 3-under par. He posted six birdies and two bogeys in the first round, and three birdies and four bogeys in the second. 

Sophomore Justin Hastings meanwhile, is even par and in a tie for 27th after rounds of 72 and 72. Hastings opened with an even-par 72, and followed that up with another even par round of 72. 

Shea Lague was the third SDSU man to come through on Monday. He is currently in 36th and is one-over par after a first round of 73 and a second round of even-par 72.

Dylan Oyama was the fourth Aztec on the leaderboard in a tie for 46th at two-over par. He posted an even-par 72 in his opening round of the day and followed that up with a two-over par showing in the second round. 

Skyler Ngo posted an opening round of eight-over 80. He followed that up with a 77 in his second round of play in the afternoon, and is tied for 104th overall. 

Jack Townsend rounded out the Aztecs showings on Monday. The sophomore shot a 7-over 79 in his opening round before following that up with a second round of 84 and sits in 112th after two rounds.

Loyola Marymount's Riley Lewis leads the tournament at 10-under 134.
 
San Diego State will play its final round Tuesday.
